Karlovy Vary letos slaví 130. výročí kontinentálního uvedení jednoho z nejvýznamnějších děl klasické hudby, Symfonie č. 9 e moll "Z Nového světa" od Antonína Dvořáka. Tato symfonie, inspirovaná americkou lidovou hudbou a černošskými spirituály, byla poprvé uvedena v Evropě právě zde v Karlových Varech v roce 1894.
